Profit RESPONSIBLE ACTION
For us, lasting economic success is based on responsible conduct. That is why we incorporate social, ethical, and environmental aspects into all our business activities.
Thanks to a wide range of strategic initiatives, Uzin Utz has evolved since the launch of the PASSION strategy from a primarily German supplier with international product distribution into a globally active company headquartered in Germany. The group has grown together as an organizational and cultural uni - shared processes and coordinated strategies create synergies, such as improved collaboration and faster decision-making across business units.
OUR SUCCESS STORIES
GROWTH AND VISION
In the PROFIT year 2024, the company’s profitability was a particular focus. Through targeted cost optimization projects, we were able to increase our EBIT despite the challenging environment (see Annual Report 2025). To achieve our economic goals, we expanded our market position in individual national markets. Investments and the optimization of production sites were also at the center of group-wide activities. Globally, we are committed to sustainable growth, characterized by careful planning and strategic investments in new sites and buildings. During the PASSION 2025 strategy cycle, such investments were significant and underscore our long-term commitment. For example, in recent years, investments were made in the construction of a state-of-the-art logistics center in Switzerland, the construction of a new dry mortar plant in Texas (USA), and the expansion of production and storage capacities in Würzburg (Pallmann).
Compliance
At Uzin Utz, compliance is anchored in a group-wide compliance management system. This system sets clear standards of conduct for all employees and business partners. It is based on a binding compliance policy, a gift policy, and a Supplier Code of Conduct. These address, among other things, corruption prevention, the handling of gifts, fair competition, human rights, and environmental and product safety. Potential violations can be reported confidentially and, if desired, anonymously via a whistleblower system with an external ombudsperson. The protection of whistleblowers is expressly guaranteed. To prevent violations, the Group relies on structured compliance training, particularly in the form of digital e-learning formats, with a special focus on high-risk areas as well as specialized awareness training. The responsible individuals in the areas of compliance, risk management, and internal control systems report regularly to the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board to identify risks early and take countermeasures.
STRONG PARTNERSHIPS
Our goal is to be a reliable and strong partner for our customers by building and maintaining long-term, successful business relationships. With a qualified and diverse field service team, our application engineering department, and other specialized divisions, we offer comprehensive consulting and service solutions. In addition, through our group-wide business development team, we provide targeted support to architects, planners, and the flooring industry to address their specific needs. In addition to technical expertise, our training offerings include specialized knowledge in the field of flooring, the exchange of experiences, and knowledge transfer on legal and marketing-related topics. Through customer events such as the UZIN UTZ Campus, professionals, tradespeople, and interested parties are informed about the latest trends and developments in construction and flooring technology.
CONVERSION TO A EUROPEAN COMPANY
In 2022, Uzin Utz AG was converted into a European company (Societas Europaea, SE). The new legal form reflects the international orientation of Uzin Utz’s business. In the future, all employees from the Group companies in the EU and the member states of the European Economic Area will be able to send representatives to a newly established European committee, which will engage in direct dialogue with the Executive Board. Through the European Committee, which is closely modeled on an SE works council, the interests of the workforce can be brought even more clearly into focus, particularly with regard to cross-border issues.
