Further expansion of international presence in the USA: UZIN UTZ, worldwide one-stop supplier for flooring systems, plans second production site in Waco, Texas

After an extensive analysis of different industrial locations, a decision has now been made: Another production location is scheduled be built on an area of around 660,000 square feet in Waco, Texas, by 2022. In addition to the dry mortar factory in Dover, Delaware, and the sales company in Aurora, Colorado, the second production site of the subsidiary of the UZIN UTZ Group will be the third site of the group of companies in the USA.

In addition to the production of powdered products, the plans include a training center and the central US site for research and development. The investment volume is 34 million USD. More than 40 employees will be working in Waco at the start of production in 2022.

Growth region USA

“With this investment, which is our highest so far, we emphasize our international growth strategy and our long-term commitment in the USA,” states Heinz Leibundgut, Member of the Board and responsible for finance. The UZIN UTZ Group has been present in the USA with a sales company since 2007 and with a production site in Dover, Delaware, since 2015.

“Our commitment in the North American market has not changed despite the current economic and global situation. We are still seeing a strong demand for our flooring products and system-based solutions. This investment in a second production site is necessary to maintain our high standards for product innovation, quality, delivery speed and technical service,” explains Julian Utz, Member of the Board.

“When we built our production site in Dover, Delaware, in 2015, we firmly anchored our company in the North American market. North America is the largest flooring market in the world. Investments like this production site in Waco, Texas, are necessary so we can achieve our strategic targets by 2025 and the additionally set targets for our global organization. Our commitment to the market, the people and the industry has not changed. We will continue to invest to the full extent,” adds Philipp Utz, Member of the Board and responsible for the construction of the factory in Dover.
