New warehouse at UZIN UTZ Nederland in Haaksbergen

PRODUCE CLOSER TO THE CUSTOMER AND NEW WAREHOUSE

UZIN UTZ is preparing for a considerable expansion of its production and storage capacities at the Haaksberg industrial estate 'Stepelerveld'. The ambitious future plans of the supplier of, among other things, adhesives and cast flooring are slowly taking shape. The expansion of internal production capacities for the manufacture of the "innovative adhesives of the future" has been completed. The construction of an additional warehouse and shipping area has also been completed. This has given UZIN UTZ a total of 1,500 additional pallet spaces and a state-of-the-art warehouse. In the next phase, a new powder plant and logistics center for Northern Europe will be built next to the current plant, which is scheduled to go into operation in 2026.

Production close to customers: improving the ecological footprint

Gerben Bouwmeester of UZIN UTZ Netherlands says, "With the expansion of production to include innovative and much healthier STP adhesives for the UZIN and Pallmann brands and the associated additional storage and shipping space, we are taking a first important step in Haaksbergen to produce closer to our customers. This is not only more sustainable, but also provides more security for our customers in the Netherlands, northern and eastern Germany, Belgium and Scandinavia." The expansion will enable UZIN UTZ Netherlands to produce all types of liquid adhesives in Haaksbergen. In the next phase, which includes the construction of a powder plant (for the production of trowel and tile adhesives), UZIN UTZ Nederland will become a full backup site for the UZIN UTZ Group. Bouwmeester: "This expansion means a significant increase in the volumes we produce, so there will be many employment opportunities in the short and long term."

New warehouse with efficient storage 1,500 pallet spaces

Bouwmeester continues: "We could have the new warehouse with 1,500 pallet spaces up and running by the end of 2022. We used sustainable materials as much as possible for the shipping area and the new, 12-meter-high warehouse. It is also important to us that the new warehouse and shipping area fit seamlessly into the look and feel of our "green" factory. That's why, for example, the sedum roof was partially extended and the characteristic wooden trusses characterize the appearance."

Sustainable ambitions

UZIN UTZ's current premises in Haaksbergen are BREEAM NL In-Use certified. For the newly built factory and central warehouse, UZIN UTZ has seriously pursued its sustainability ambitions with BREEAM Outstanding.
